"I attended a bushcraft day hosted by Kenny. From the very start he showed a great knowledge of the subject. He kept me engaged throughout the day and I feel I benefited greatly from his teaching. As a result of that I could then pass this knowledge onto my scout group. Thanks Kenny."

"I had the joy of being on a hiking, bushcraft and wild-camping weekend in the Trossachs which was led by Kenny. The whole experience was brilliant! Kenny’s knowledge, experience and enthusiasm for bushcraft, Scottish nature and the outdoors enthused and inspired us all which meant we learnt loads but also had a really fun, relaxed and enjoyable time. I would thoroughly recommend of any of these experiences with Avon Outdoors."

"As a HT I cannot recommend Avon Outdoors enough to schools (although I’m wary of doing this as Kenny will get booked up and we’re not letting him out of our grip now!)

Our children have had magnificent opportunities that they would not have had without Avon Outdoors.  They are learning the skills to be resilient and creative in their thinking as well as developing a passion for the outdoors and realising the positive effects this has on their own mental health. "Kenny devised a weekly programme of outdoor activities to promote independence, self-belief and build resilience. As the boys worked together to master new skills such as fire lighting, den building, canoeing and building bug hotels their self-esteem grew stronger and they were beginning to demonstrate patience and problem-solving skills. During this time the group created an outdoor play space in our school forest for other classes to use and named it the Wild Woods. Kenny also worked with the boys to gain their John Muir Award, which they were extremely proud of. Another positive outcome was that the class teachers also commented on an improvement in their behaviour and social skills within the classroom and at playtimes."

- Kenny planned activities that would be engaging for pupils while also challenging them mentally and physically

- There was a great balance between support/challenge"
